About Role:

The Backup Administrator will be responsible for the administration of Commvault platforms, as well as developing backup policies and data recovery. The role is primarily responsible for migrating backups from TSM to Commvault, building out infrastructure components, automating backup processes and acting as a subject matter expert for other team members. In addition, has accountability for ensuring data integrity, and providing detailed documentation of operational procedures.
Role and Responsibility 
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Works with Commvault in a large mixed environment of both windows and Linux servers.
Ability to build and design backup infrastructure.
Ability to manage multiple tape libraries of backup infrastructure.
Understands and has excellent knowledge and skills to trouble shoot backup issues, tape issues, and storage issues.
Needs to be proficient in backup schedules and policies.
Ability to work independently and to work on call rotation is a must.
Must thoroughly understand Commvault through command line and GUI.
Must understand Linux and Windows commands and understand how to troubleshoot backup issues on both windows servers, and Linux servers.
Must follow established company processes, including change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
Must have experience with automating backup processes, as well as using Commvault Workflows.
