Senior Development Engineer in Test

This role is based in Pune. This location works on a hybrid model, 2-3 days in the office. You will be required to interview in person.

About the Role: 

Our Human Fabric Team is looking for a well-rounded SeniorDevelopment Engineer in Test with a proven record of ensuring the delivery of scalable microservice based solutions to enterprise clients. Capable of driving several projects to completion from a SDET perspective. A skilled technician that can also serve as a mentor to the team. A visionary that delivers recommendations on how to evolve testing best practices within the organization that solve today’s problems with the future direction of product testing in mind. 

About the Team:

You will join our globally disperse engineering team but be supported by engineers based in Pune.  We are a results-driven, highly collaborative group passionate about delivering high-impact identity security solutions. Our team develops and tests enterprise products built on a mature, cloud-native, event-driven microservices architecture hosted in AWS. We value individual ownership, teamwork, continuous learning, and technical craftsmanship, providing an environment where your contributions directly shape our product quality. 

Roadmap for Success:

• 30 days: Complete engineering onboarding, set up your local development and testing environments, and build an understanding of SailPoint's product capabilities and microservices architecture. Shadow team members on existing testing workflows and execute initial test cases within sprint cycles. 

• 60 days: Take ownership of test planning and validation for assigned feature areas. Develop detailed manual and automated test cases covering functional, regression, and integration scenarios, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines. 

• 90 days: Independently drive testing activities across complex microservices features. Partner proactively with development teams to reproduce and triage defects, analyze test metrics, and ensure comprehensive test coverage across supported operating systems and database environments. 

• 6 months: Champion automated testing best practices, reduce test execution cycle times, and optimize test harness reliability. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and Engineering leadership to align testing strategy with product delivery goals. 

• 1 year: Serve as a subject matter expert for product test engineering and automation frameworks. Drive continuous quality improvements, establish testing standards for new platform capabilities, and mentor team members across the organization. 

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in related field, or equivalent professional experience 

• 6+ years of professional experience in testing enterprise software, preferably in a Java/J2EE environment 

• Proven ability to develop and maintain comprehensive test cases and test harnesses, both manual and automated 

• Hands-on experience with one or more automated UI testing frameworks (such as Selenium, Silk Test, Sahi, or equivalent) 

• Strong working knowledge of SQL and experience with one or more relational database platforms (such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, or PostgreSQL) 

• Hands-on experience configuring test environments, including application servers (such as Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, or JBoss) across Windows Server and Linux/Unix operating systems 

• Familiarity with JavaScript, XML, and Java 

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with software development engineers for defect reproduction and resolution 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and diagnostic abilities 

AI-assisted engineering: 

Our engineers are expected to use AI development tools as a core part of their daily workflow, not as a novelty. We expect you to use these tools to accelerate delivery, expand your scope, and raise the quality bar, while applying strong engineering judgment to review, validate, and own everything that ships under your name. Comfort with prompting, agentic workflows, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-generated code is a baseline expectation for this role. 

AI related Technology: 

• Cursor, Claude Code 

• Python-based AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy 

• Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch 

• LLMs and Foundation Models in Bedrock, VertexAI, or similar 

Preferred Skills 

• Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, or other enterprise identity systems 

• Experience testing cloud-native applications hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) 

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
