Job DescriptionAs a Senior Cloud DevOps Network Engineer, you define and implement the automated infrastructure and connectivity solutions that power our global digital presence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures that meet the needs of Software Engineering, Security, and Cloud Operations. You will work hands-on to develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC), as well as collaborate with system architects to bridge the gap between traditional networking and modern cloud-native deployments. You will stay current with the evolving cloud marketplace, maintaining deep expertise in software-defined networking (SDN), CI/CD pipelines, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design & Automation: Lead the analysis of stakeholder needs to design robust cloud network architectures. Use IaC tools (e.g., Terraform) to automate the provisioning of VPCs, subnets, transit gateways, and load balancers.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate the network architecture vision and project progress to internal stakeholders, including Engineering leadership and Security teams. Ensure transparency regarding network performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance standards.
- Cloud Service Evaluation: Engage with cloud service providers and third-party vendors to evaluate networking and security tools (e.g., SASE, Firewalls, Service Mesh). Model total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI, ensuring solutions meet company security standards and regulatory requirements.
- CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Drive the end-to-end lifecycle for infrastructure deployment. Integrate network security testing and compliance checks into automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure "Shift-Left" security practices.
- Hybrid-Cloud Connectivity: Lead the integration and deployment of secure connectivity between on-premises data centers and multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). Implement VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN solutions.
- Observability and Optimization: Establish metrics and monitoring processes (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Flow Logs) to track network health. Drive continuous optimization of latency, throughput, and cloud spend, ensuring systems meet high-availability KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 4 years focused on Cloud Networking and DevOps.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience with Python, Shell Scripting, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Configuration Management (Ansible).
- Networking Expertise: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, Load Balancing, and Network Security (WAF, Zero Trust, Micro-segmentation).
- Cloud Platforms: Proven track record of managing large-scale environments in AWS, Azure, or GCP, including multi-region and multi-account architectures.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex networking and automation concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) networking, including CNI plugins, Ingress controllers, and Service Mesh (Istio/Linkerd) is a plus.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Network Engineer.
