We are looking for experienced DevOps engineers to join our Core Engineering team and help us build the software that runs the world's largest and most complex organisations.
Our mission is to radically and continuously improve productivity and satisfaction for the developers, support engineers and product administrators of Atlassian's products.
You will design, build and maintain the infrastructure, process and tooling that powers Atlassian's development and support teams. You'll work on our Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, verification and testing tools, observability and data engineering. You will have the opportunity to apply and develop your skills in automation, coding and scripting, AI, infrastructure as code and security in the code lifecycle while working with enterprise grade codebases.
Our global team are experts in DevOps and SRE tools Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Maven, Gradle, AWS, Blazemeter, New Relic, Databricks complemented by skills in Linux, Python, Java and Bash scripting. Each engineer contributes their own particular combination of expertise to the team capabilities.

What you'll do
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to lead company-wide programs targeting engineering excellence, developer productivity and satisfaction.
- Contribute technical design, implementation, launch and adoption of high-impact software development lifecycle solutions at pace.
- Enable development teams across Atlassian, defining and improving healthy CD/CD and testing practices, and leading Developer Productivity initiatives.
- Explore, present and move forward with ways to augment the software development lifecycle with AI in the dev loop
- Deliver infrastructure and tools that empower development teams to maintain efficient CI/CD, release and observability processes.
- Support developers working on complex, enterprise grade products to ensure smooth development and deployment.
- Report to a Senior Engineering Manager in the Core Engineering department.
Your background
- Proficient in the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for complex, enterprise grade software using tools like Bitbucket Pipelines, Bamboo, or Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD reliability principles, including test strategy, security, and performance benchmarking.
- Hands-on experience (3+ years) with automation tools and infrastructure-as-code technologies (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Solid foundation in Linux system and demonstrable scripting proficiency (Python, Go, Bash) for automation
- Familiar with observability tools and practices (logging, metrics, tracing) to ensure production-grade services.
- Incident response and production issue resolution experience
- Design, delivery and operation of large-scale, AWS cloud-native infrastructure solutions (3+ years).
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm (2+ years)
- Solid expertise in Git
- Basic Linux administration
- You may have proficiency in Java
- Experience with relational databases, data models and dashboard tools such as Databricks and Tableau
- Fluent English (both spoken and written)
