Role
We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our Engineering team in a hybrid capacity based in Bangalore, reporting to the Director, Software Development Engineering.
You will contribute as a development engineer within our Engineering team, helping to build and enhance the world’s largest cloud security platform. You will bring your vision and passion to a team of experts enabling organizations worldwide to harness speed and agility through a cloud-first strategy.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Design, architect, implement, and support end-to-end CI/CD systems for mission-critical distributed application deployments on Zscaler Private and Public clouds such as AWS and GCP
- Assist developers with merging, resolving conflicts, and managing pre-commit hooks while owning the administration of DevSecOps tools like GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Grafana, Prometheus, Artifactory, and ArgoCD/Flux
- Ensure the security of code, applications, and infrastructure through hands-on experience with security scanning (SAST/SCA/DAST) tools such as SonarQube, Snyk, BlackDuck, Coverity, CheckMarx, and TruffleHog
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Chef, Ansible, and Puppet
- Track and monitor build metrics—including code coverage, build times, and agent consumption—and chart them over time using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, and Loki

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience managing AWS, GCP, and/or Private Cloud environments
- 3+ years strong application development or automation experience with an OOPS language such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Go
- Experience with SAST, SCA, DAST, and secret scans, including familiarity with tools like SonarQube, Snyk, Coverity, BlackDuck, CheckMarx, or TruffleHog
- Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, EKS, or GKE, and proficiency in IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Experience with Git and GitOps-based pipelines using GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket, along with CI automation tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bamboo
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience writing and developing YAML-based CI/CD pipelines and knowledge of build tools like makefiles, Gradle, NPM, or Maven
- Experience with networking, load balancers, firewalls, and web security
- Experience integrating AI and ML tools into daily DevSecOps activities
