The Role: Senior Software Developer, Application Development
 

The Team: We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled software engineer for S&P Global Market Intelligence. This developer will help us accelerate various initiatives within Energy Datasets.
 

The Impact: As a Senior Software Developer, you will be part of the development team that manages and supports internal applications related to Energy Datasets.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, analyze, and isolate problems.
  • Work independently on projects and tasks with minimal assistance.
  • Develop solutions to meet key business needs.
  • Engineer components and common services based on standard development models and languages.
  • Produce system design documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Quickly learn new and internal technologies while mentoring junior teammates.
     

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum methodology.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in application development utilizing various technologies.
  • Strong expertise in cloud computing and data processing platforms, with at least three years of hands-on experience in these areas.
  • Solid understanding of big data and cloud-based technologies, including data warehousing solutions, data integration, and programming languages such as Python and Scala.
  • Familiarity with applications developed using .NET technologies, including strong knowledge of object-oriented design, .NET Core, C#, SQL, and design patterns.
  • Good knowledge and experience working on multi-tier applications.
  • Experience with microservices architecture is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in building applications using desktop frameworks and data access technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with scheduling applications and services using .NET technologies.
  • Proficiency in stored procedure programming and performance monitoring.
  • Must be a team player, quick learner, and willing to tackle challenging tasks as needed.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms and containerization technologies is a plus but not mandatory.
