Job Title: Senior Power BI Engineer
Overview: We are seeking a Senior Power BI Engineer to drive the development of innovative data solutions for our clients. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that deliver actionable insights to support informed decision-making. You will also play a critical role in collaborating with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to uphold the excellence of our data products.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and sustain advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to exceed business requirements.
- Collaborate extensively with stakeholders to capture requirements, decode data insight needs, and transform them into effective BI solutions.
- Conduct data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting to assure data quality and integrity.
- Optimize Power BI solutions for performance and scalability using techniques such as data partitioning, incremental refresh, aggregations, and composite models.
- Enforce data security measures and access control using Power BI functionalities like row-level security, dynamic data masking, and data classification.
- Mentor junior Power BI engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and data analytics technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8-12 years of dedicated experience in Power BI development and administration.
- Proficient in Power BI architecture, including Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Mobile.
- Expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling techniques, such as star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with diverse data sources and formats including SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience integrating Power BI with other advanced Microsoft technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power Automate.
- Proficiency in using machine learning capabilities within Power BI to enhance data analysis.
- Knowledge of Python or R for complex data manipulations and analytical enhancements in Power BI.
- Certification in Power BI or other related advanced analytics technologies.
