Role Description
As a Senior Frontend-Web Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge online banking customer processes using Angular. You will collaborate closely with multiple teams to design and implement new, reusable frontend components for online banking and various other applications. Your primary focus will be on the continuous development of critical online banking business processes, with a strong emphasis on security procedures and payment/transaction functionalities. We are looking for a hands-on expert who can act as a go-to person for all frontend-related inquiries, coaching junior team members, and fostering knowledge transfer within our frontend guild and other forums. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that solutions are highly scalable and perform flawlessly under extremely high load scenarios (50,000-100,000+ parallel customer accesses). Your key responsibilities
- Frontend Development Lead: Lead the development of new online banking customer processes and features using Angular, RxJS, and TypeScript, ensuring high quality and adherence to best practices.
- Component Development: Design, develop, and maintain reusable frontend components for various online banking and internal applications, fostering consistency and efficiency across the ecosystem.
- Critical Process Enhancement: Drive the further development and optimization of critical online banking business processes, with a specific focus on robust security procedures, payments, and transactions.
- Technical Mentorship & Coaching: Act as a subject matter expert and go-to person for all frontend-related topics, providing hands-on guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior Frontend Engineers and other team members.
- Knowledge Transfer: Conduct training sessions and actively participate in the frontend guild and other meetings to facilitate efficient knowledge transfer and promote best practices across development teams.
- Scalability & Performance: Ensure that developed solutions are highly scalable, performant, and can operate flawlessly under very high load scenarios (e.g., 50,000-100,000+ parallel customer accesses).
- Code Quality & Standards: Champion code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards, contributing to a robust and sustainable codebase.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, UX/UI designers, product owners, and business analysts, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Accessibility Compliance: Ensure that all developed frontend solutions comply with WCAG 2 AA Accessibility standards.
Your skills and experience
- Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (also practical) in building Single Page Applications with Angular, RxJS, and TypeScript in combination with REST-based APIs.
- Several years of professional experience and expert knowledge (also practical) with responsive design, focused around HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS (especially Bootstrap 4+).
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience in Frontend testing using frameworks such as Karma/Jasmine or Jest.
- Solid understanding and practical experience within the framework of WCAG 2 AA Compliance (Accessibility).
- Experience with the NX mono repository toolset is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, strong independence and initiative, and the ability to work effectively in agile delivery teams.
- Experience in technical and methodological coaching of junior UI/UX Engineers and active participation in the continuous development of colleagues.
- A passion for constantly learning and applying new technologies and programming languages in a constantly evolving web environment.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
