Inco is building the confidentiality layer for blockchains through advanced encryption and secure-compute technologies. We’re building secure, scalable infrastructure that enables applications to process sensitive data while preserving confidentiality. We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Bangalore and help build a new product from the ground up.
Who You Are
You are a strong product engineer who can work across the stack and take full ownership of a production web application. You care deeply about performance, reliability, and user experience. You understand that getting a feature to work is only the beginning—you think about latency, failure modes, observability, scalability, edge cases, and how the system behaves under real-world load.
You are comfortable moving between frontend, backend, infrastructure, and external integrations to solve problems end-to-end. You thrive in fast-moving environments where requirements evolve quickly and engineers are expected to make strong technical decisions independently.
Responsibilities
Full-Stack Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade web applications.
- Own features end-to-end, from frontend interfaces to backend services and infrastructure.
- Build clean, maintainable, and scalable application architectures.
- Develop robust APIs and backend systems.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external infrastructure.
- Work closely with product, design, and protocol engineers to rapidly ship high-quality features.
Performance & Reliability
- Take applications from early-stage prototypes to production-grade systems.
- Improve frontend performance, page load times, API latency, and responsiveness.
- Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks across the stack.
- Build resilient systems that handle dependency failures gracefully.
- Implement caching, retries, fallbacks, idempotency, and failure recovery where appropriate.
- Ensure systems perform reliably under high traffic and rapidly changing workloads.
Real-Time Systems
- Build applications that consume and display large amounts of frequently changing data.
- Design efficient WebSocket, streaming, polling, and event-driven architectures.
- Handle asynchronous state and race conditions across frontend and backend systems.
- Ensure data remains accurate, fresh, and consistent across application components.
Frontend Engineering
- Build responsive and highly performant user interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Design scalable component and application-state architectures.
- Optimize rendering performance for complex, data-intensive interfaces.
- Build polished user experiences across desktop and mobile.
- Maintain a high standard for product quality and attention to detail.
Backend Engineering
- Build and maintain backend services supporting application logic and data processing.
- Design scalable APIs and data models.
- Work with databases, caching systems, queues, and event-driven services.
- Improve observability through logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Debug complex production issues across application and infrastructure layers.
Engineering Ownership
- Own major technical areas of the product.
- Make architecture and technology decisions with long-term maintainability in mind.
- Set a high bar for code quality, testing, documentation, and operational reliability.
- Conduct thoughtful code reviews and mentor other engineers.
- Proactively identify technical debt, scalability limitations, and reliability risks.
- Work closely with the founding and engineering teams in a highly iterative environment.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong production experience with TypeScript and React.
- Experience building and operating backend services.
- Strong understanding of web application architecture, APIs, databases, and caching.
- Proven experience improving the performance, reliability, and scalability of production applications.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous systems, concurrency, networking, and application state.
- Experience building applications that process real-time or frequently changing data.
- Experience debugging complex issues across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and external dependencies.
- Strong product instincts and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently own technically complex projects from architecture through production.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with significant ambiguity and ownership.
- Based in Bangalore or able to work regularly from our Bangalore office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building high-performance financial, trading, crypto, or data-intensive applications.
- Experience with Web3 or blockchain applications.
- Experience integrating wallets, blockchain RPCs, indexers, or onchain infrastructure.
- Experience with WebSockets, streaming systems, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Postgres, Redis, queues, and caching infrastructure.
- Experience with Next.js and Node.js.
- Experience designing highly available systems with strong observability and monitoring.
- Experience with CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and production operations.
- Familiarity with application and infrastructure security.
- Experience at an early-stage startup where you owned significant parts of a product.
