Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
Flywire is seeking an Senior IT Auditor to join our expanding Internal Audit function in Bangalore. Reporting into Internal Audit leadership, this role is a critical contributor to the planning, execution, and evolution of Flywire’s IT Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program.
This is not a box-ticking role. You will operate as a trusted partner to Technology, Security, and Business stakeholders, helping ensure the integrity, scalability, and reliability of Flywire’s IT control environment in a fast-growing, cloud-first fintech organization.
What you'll be doing:
🔥 Trailblazer Lead and execute end-to-end IT SOX activities in accordance with SOX and IIA standards. Perform walkthroughs, control identification, and testing across IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Application Controls (ITACs). Deliver high-quality narratives, flowcharts, risk-control matrices, and testing with minimal supervision, identifying root causes and actionable remediation opportunities.
🔥 Influencer Build strong, collaborative relationships with IT teams, business process owners, and external auditors. Communicate control concepts clearly and confidently. Advise stakeholders on migration efforts to help resolve deficiencies to strengthen FW culture while maintaining independence.
🔥 Strategizer Support the continuous improvement of Flywire’s IT SOX program by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, consistency, and auditor reliance. Leverage frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, and COSO to strengthen control design and execution in a dynamic technology environment.
🔥 Innovator Embrace automation and AI-enabled auditing techniques to modernize SOX testing. Contribute ideas that improve coverage, reduce manual effort, and enhance insight through data-driven audit approaches. Stay curious about emerging technologies and evolving IT risks in cloud-based environments.
🔥 Trusted Partner Prepare clear, concise, and professional audit documentation and reporting. Coordinate closely with external auditors to support reliance on internal testing and ensure a smooth, high-quality annual audit cycle. Participate in ad-hoc IT risk, compliance, and internal control initiatives that support Flywire’s growth.
QualificationsHere's what we are looking for :
⚡ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
⚡ 4–7 years of experience in IT audit, internal audit, or risk advisory with a strong focus on SOX compliance
⚡ Deep hands-on expertise in IT General Controls (ITGCs) and IT Automated/Application Controls (ITACs)
⚡ Strong knowledge of SOX requirements and IT control frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL)
⚡ Experience testing controls across complex systems and applications in a fast-paced environment
⚡ Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
⚡ Intellectual curiosity and openness to using automation and AI to improve audit quality and efficiency
Preferred Experience
✨ Experience auditing ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
✨ Professional certification such as CISA (or equivalent)
✨ Exposure to SOC 1, ISO 27001, GDPR, or other compliance frameworks
✨ Background in Big Four or large multinational environments
