We are seeking a dynamic Senior Lambda Engineer to support R&D Software teams within the Sports Medicine Division. The role involves designing, developing, and deploying serverless applications using AWS Lambda, building APIs with API Gateway, and working with event-driven architectures (SQS, SNS, Kinesis, EventBridge). Responsibilities include managing data with DynamoDB, S3, and RDS, implementing authentication, writing IaC with CloudFormation or Terraform, optimizing performance and cost, ensuring code quality through testing and CI/CD, and collaborating with DevOps and security teams.
What will you be doing?- Design, develop, and deploy serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs with AWS API Gateway, integrating with backend services.
- Work with event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, Kinesis, or EventBridge.
- Manage data storage and retrieval using AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, and RDS.
- Implement authentication and authorization using AWS Cognito or custom JWT solutions.
- Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Lambda functions for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure code quality and reliability through unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to implement best practices in scalability, observability, and compliance.
- Contribute across the full product lifecycle, including support for products released to market.
- Education: BS in Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent required. MS or PhD in Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- Licenses/ Certifications: AWS Certified Developer – Associate or higher certification is a plus.
- Experience: Should have a min of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda within total 10+ years.
Competences: (must have)
- Strong programming skills in at least one language commonly used with Lambda: Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), Python, Java, Go.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs using AWS API Gateway and integrate with backend services.
- Experience with AWS SAM (Serverless Application Model) or Serverless Framework.
- Familiarity with AWS IAM, roles, and policies for secure access control.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience working with agile development methodologies and exposure to working within CI/CD.
- Experienced with SDLC best practices and processes, including development infrastructure and tools like Gitlab, JIRA, Jenkins, or similar.
