Position Summary

This position is an excellent opportunity for a Finance professional to demonstrate their skills in Financial Accounting & Reporting and Controlling. The position will be the custodian of Books of Accounts for India legal entities managing end to end processes related to Accounting, Reporting and Controlling. Based at Mumbai (India). The position would form a critical part of Finance team responsible for ensuring timely and correct financial closings, Audit closures along with monitoring of Internal Control Framework.

The Role (daily responsibilities)

  • Oversee the Financial Accounting/ Controlling function to ensure proper maintenance of accounting systems, policies and procedures in support of Country business operations in an effective and efficient manner. 

  • Ensure accurate and timely Month-end, Quarter End and Year-end closings and financial reporting (Global as well as local).

  • Primary Liaison point for External/Internal Auditors.

  • Provide guidance and oversee the Matters related to Direct Tax.

  • Partner with relevant Global HO & Country level functions on relevant matters.

  • Support Strategic and Key Projects such as Restructuring, M&A due diligence, System Integration and implementations, changes in reporting due to changes in regulatory environment etc.

  • Manage and lead the team responsible for accounting, controlling & reporting activities.

  • Assist the Country CFO / Finance Director to implement enhanced governance standards and internal controls.

The Candidate (requirements)

  • Chartered Accountant with 10-12 years of work experience within manufacturing industry.

  • Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting.

  • Extensive experience in handling and managing Audit related requirements with BIG4 consulting firms.

  • Capability of overseeing internal control environment and strong operational experience.

  • Knowledge of SAP operating systems is a plus, and experience in the implementation of integrated operational systems.

  • Prior experience of Team (2-4 persons) management preferred.

  • Strong technical accounting background in US GAAP / Ind AS and how that translates in a practical way to ensure strong internal controls across the region.

  • Orientation towards detailing.

  • Strong Collaboration and Stakeholder Management skills

  • Ability to work across multiple functions and across all levels of the organization through effective communication skills.

  • Business Partnering Acumen along with Solution oriented mindset.
