We are looking for a Senior Manager, IP Product to join our IP Laws team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage an established team in a business critical function. You will manage the team responsible for the implementation of the IP law content into Clarivate software and services. You will collaborate closely with other Managers within IP Laws who handle Legal Research, Implementation and Client Management, as well as key stakeholders outside the department such as Product Owners and Operations Analysts. In addition, you will also oversee team requirements and optimize IP workflows.
About You – Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal degree
- 10 years of relevant experience
- 8+ years in the intellectual property industry with experience in Portfolio Management software, docketing practice, and IP law calculations
- 8+ years of expertise and understanding of Patent rules, procedures, and prosecution workflow of the USPTO, EPO, PCT, WIPO and other national and international governing bodies

What will you be doing in this role?
- Execute and develop strategies to keep the relevant Clarivate software products/services up-to-date with the jurisdiction law changes/docketing practices and aligned across all products/services, and to continue to exploit our IP law content as a market differentiator
- Manage, coordinate, communicate and implement the deliverables associated with each IP law client content release into various Clarivate software products, adhering to agreed/defined release frequencies
- Collaborate closely with the Legal Research team within IP Laws to ensure accuracy of IP law updates developed
- Collaborate closely with the IP Laws Customer Solutions team to help facilitate prompt comprehensive responses to our clients, including communicating directly with the client(s) on issues and education
- Liaise with Product Managers and IT teams in IP law change implementations
- Be the primary Subject Matter Expert for IP law maintenance and the calculations/routines performed by selected law engines utilized by Clarivate products
- Manage the updates to legal documents such as PTO forms that support the PTO integration service
- Create and sustain a performance culture that consistently exceeds the expectations of internal and external stakeholders and maintain an environment that optimizes team and individual performance
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and process maps and identify, capture and report on key metrics relating to IP law implementation
- Constantly evaluate current processes and make recommendations for improvement, standardization and tools to improve efficiencies and accuracy
About the Team
Our team is responsible for providing periodic releases of IP law updates to our clients in accordance with new laws or law changes. The main purpose of this role is to manage the team responsible for the implementation of the IP law content into Clarivate Software, particularly IP Management Systems (for example: statutory actions/formalities and due dates required to obtain and maintain Intellectual Property rights in different jurisdictions around the world). The team executes against IP Laws strategies by driving the on-time delivery of the IP law content according to defined schedules. The team will also collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders, such as Product Management teams to maximize a core value of the business. The existing department comprises a diverse range of individuals from around the world, including the US, the UK, India and other European locations including Serbia. This role will report to the Senior Director, IP Counsel.
Hours of Work
- Full Time, permanent position with flexible work hours to accommodate meetings with other time zones/regions (Europe and India)
- This is a hybrid role working 2-3 days a week in one of our US, London, or Jersey offices.
