Oversee and manage New Product Development projects, collaborate with teams to ensure project execution, resolve issues, monitor status, assist with budgeting, manage risks, and document progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Execution and Monitoring: Oversee all New Product Development (NPD) projects under brake and tag axle verticals for domestic and non-Meritor export customers.
- Objective Establishment: Analyze functional requirements from customers to establish product program objectives.
- Collaboration: Work with engineering, purchasing, marketing, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop product specifications that meet customer requirements.
- Project Support: Serve as a resource on projects and work assignments, employing basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.
- Issue Resolution: Identify, track, and collaborate with others to resolve project issues.
- Status Monitoring: Monitor and communicate project status to the project team.
- Budget and Planning: Assist with budget planning and tracking, research, and analytical support; provide input into the design and development of project plans and timelines.
- Risk Management: Assist with managing project risk using quality tools to identify areas of risk.
- Documentation: Maintain project notes, databases, and other records; monitor measures and communicate with the Project Manager on the status of specific projects and assignments.
- Knowledge Sharing: Document and share team learnings with other teams; draw on other experiences to enhance the success of the project.
Experience:
- 5 years of experience directly related to program/project management or equivalent work.
- Certifications: PMP Certification (Preferred).
- Communicates Effectively: Develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
- Customer Focus: Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
- Manages Complexity: Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
- Manages Conflict: Handle conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.
- Plans and Aligns: Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
- Resourcefulness: Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently.
- Project Issue and Risk Management: Manage the process to identify, assess, and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and disciplines. Drive actions to minimize, monitor, and control risks and issues to maximize positive outcomes.
- Project Resource Management: Develop resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively.
- Project Schedule Management: Manage the planned schedule using recommended schedule management tools and processes to drive completion within the agreed timeline.
- Project Scope Management: Manage a list of project deliverables (scope) using recommended project management tools and processes to ensure the project includes all the work required and only the work required to complete the project successfully.
- Values Differences: Recognize the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and SAP.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills, with a preference for PMP certification.
