As a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Core & Foundational Platforms (CFP) group, you will have the opportunity to lead and provide direction for team members, working on established and complex issues within your specialization. You will exercise independent judgement to determine appropriate actions, and be part of a team that is building for the future, providing outstanding customer experience and helping our clients succeed. You will be part of the Databases product line responsible for building centralized platform & database services across public cloud & on-premise (Gaia), including hybrid, these services are leveraged by all of our lines of business across the globe .
Job responsibilities

• Work on building a world class global SRE function across regions, building support and in-market engineering processes, tooling, telemetry, monitoring and debugging capabilities across our suite of managed services.
• Collaborate closely with the wider SRE functions to drive towards a consistent experience across our entire set of services and products.
• Improve customer experience and satisfaction across multiple managed services
• Managing a local and global team of engineers

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• Extensive experience with multiple commercial and open source database products at scale, within the financial services industry. Relational and NoSQL (MongoDB, Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, Neo4j, Gemfire, Redis as examples)
• Strong skills in automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible) to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention
• Significant experience running large global teams of SRE and support engineers
• Background as a database administrator with expertise and SQL and other database query languages
• Thorough understanding of the latest technologies around telemetry and monitoring
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex database issues quickly and effectively
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and business stakeholders
• Proven leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of SREs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
• Extensive knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements to protect data integrity and privacy

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with cloud platforms AWS, Azure GCP, preferably certified in one or more
• CI/CD pipelines preferably including Jenkins, Bamboo and/or Spinnaker
