Description and Requirements

• Database Management and Administration:
• Lead the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of IBM DB2(UDB/LUW) databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, optimizing queries and database structure.
• Design and implement database solutions, upgrades, and patches.
• Backup and Recovery Management:
• Implement and manage comprehensive backup strategies for IBM DB2(UDB/LUW) databases, both on-premises and in the cloud using backup tools( Rubrik,)
• Conduct disaster recovery exercises and ensure business continuity in the event of data loss or system failures.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization:
• Conduct database performance assessments, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Optimize queries, indexes, and other database objects to improve system efficiency.
• Monitor resource usage (CPU, memory, disk) and implement strategies to ensure resource optimization.
• Cloud Integration:
• Manage IBM DB2(UDB/LUW) database instances deployed in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or IBM DB2(UDB/LUW) Cloud Infrastructure.
• Ensure proper database configuration, migration, and optimization within the cloud infrastructure.
• Implement cloud-specific features such as autoscaling, disaster recovery, and security measures for cloud databases.
• Collaborate with cloud architects to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud database architectures.
• Database programming skills:
• Very good experience in Database programming skills for designing and coding, optimizing and tuning the SQL and PL/SQL queries.
• Strong knowledge in debug the code and provide appropriate solution to developers and application team.
• Automation Implementation:
• Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of automated infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible, Elastic and Terraform.
• Lead the develop and management of Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployments using Ansible and Elastic.
• Automate database health checks, monitoring and alerting system to proactively address potential issues.
• Security and Compliance:
• Implement robust database security policies to safeguard data, including access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2.
• Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments on IBM DB2(UDB/LUW) databases.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists.
