Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading
application of technology and operations across every aspect
of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our
customers to essential tools within our business. We also use
technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential

The primary purpose of the Platforms Operations Support team is to provide 24x7 Operations support and management for Platform technologies. The Platforms supported are varied across multiple technologies and technology disciplines including: Linux, Satellite, LDAP, Scripting and others. Our customers are varied from Business Unit to IT Engineering, with many of the technologies that are changing rapidly. Being part of “Run” component of CBA’s IT team, we are accountable for being dynamic, agile and rapid in our capabilities to service customer requests. This team will be involved in operational delivery of key bank customer services, including Digital, Retail, Payments and back office services hosted on Platforms.
Impact & contribution :-
The purpose of this role is to be a senior member of the
Platform Operations support team supporting, platform
technologies provided directly by the Bank as an IT service
provider. As part of the Support Team, you will deliver a "run"
function for the bank's key IT systems.
This will ensure stability, supportability, scalability, and agility
all with a focus of security and risk management.
In this role, you will contribute to the overall goal of
Operations, by ensuring that the service we are providing is
consistently looked through two main lenses - Continuous
Improvement and Service Availability
This Role is a senior role within the operations support team,
that will require strong communication skills with the
candidate expected to own technology components and be
able to drive the appropriate actions and present key
messages to senior stakeholders across the business.
Roles & Responsibilities :-
Participate and deliver to the group’s core productivity values of Huddles, VMB’s, Continuous Improvement and
Standard Operating Procedures
- Deliver and adhere to Service Management processes (which are ITIL aligned).
- Review technical documentation of solutions being on-boarded to operations
- Understand and Identify Risks in the environment and propose remediation’s / mitigations where applicable.
- Participate in vendor based reviews of key technology stacks
- Review and highlight Risk that may exists in the environment, and work with the team on developing a solution.
- Adhere to the SLA’s and OLA’s driven by each incident, problem, Service Request or Change
- Respond to High Priority incidents
- Handle support escalations by liaising with business units, other IT teams and vendor partners.
- Preparation and maintenance of Operational Support and Installation documents.
- Adhere to the delivery targets of the team as well as individual targets.
- Adhere to all group security requirements for each task and role that you are performing.
- Provide input into Improving, Automating, Maintaining and supporting all functions in scope.
- Initiate improvement ideas to enhance availability and improve MTTR (mean time to restore)
- Participate in special tasks and elevated duties as required.
- Contribute to the maintenance, availability and development of the functions within the teams.
- Participate and undertake training both formally and informally to increase the diversity of skills across a wide range of
capabilities
- As part of the team’s culture, you will support, develop and up skill other team members as required.
- Participate in the operational delivery such that the services are provided in a consistent and reliable manner to the
Bank and its customers within agreed service levels
- Ability to work well under pressure managing complex tasks effectively in short time frames.
- Be an enthusiastic team player, results oriented and committed to quality management.
- Being on call is a part of this role. On-call will be based on a roster based system and will be dependent on customer
demand.
Essential Skills:-
-10+ Years exp in Linux system administration with minimum 3 years working knowledge in aws cloud infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of RHEl 7,8,9.
• Should have work on linux boot process,lvm administration,network management,user administration,service management.
• Working knowledge of OS in-place upgrade, OS patching and package administration.
• Working knowledge of redhat PCS cluster.
• Good hands on with troubleshooting on Linux boot,network,service related issues.
• Should have an worked on services like named,proxy and sssd.
• Should have configured ec2 instances,acl,security groups,load balancer,s3 bucket and routes in aws infrastructure.
• Working Knowledge of shell scripting, python,aws-cli and ansible.
• Working knowledge of any of the backup tools like Commvault,networker or netbackup.
Education Qualification :-
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
