Senior Power BI Developer

Role Description:
AllianceBernstein is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to join our Financial Reporting & Analytics Team in Pune, India. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with over five years of experience in leveraging Power BI to deliver insightful financial reports and analytics. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of developers to transform complex data into actionable insights, providing significant exposure to senior business leaders and offering substantial growth potential within the organization. Additionally, the role involves working closely with the Finance Technology team and business users to develop, optimize, and implement business intelligence solutions that enhance business process efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support financial reporting and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
• Optimize data models and queries for performance and scalability.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on best practices for data visualization and reporting.
• Engage with senior business leaders to understand their reporting needs and deliver solutions that drive business decisions.
• Develop and implement technology solutions, including models, repositories, dashboards, and reports, within a complete functional and technical architecture.
• Document and maintain functional and technical documentation.
• Design, develop, and continuously improve supporting activities such as automation of versioning and release management, scheduling, security models, and impact assessment of new changes.
• Implement best practices and conduct code reviews for development.
• Participate and support in QA and UAT cycles.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated and proven experience in a Power BI Developer or Analyst role.
• Proven track record of creating impactful data visualizations and reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior business leaders.
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment, with a focus on collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Expertise in MS Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Power Query, and Power BI Service.
• Strong knowledge of DAX for creating complex calculations and measures in Power BI.
• 4+ years of experience with OLTP and OLAP database models.
• Demonstrated experience in an agile environment and agile project management platforms such as Jira or ADO.
• Hands-on knowledge with enterprise repository, data modeling, data mapping, and data profiling.
• Experience with IBM Cognos BI or Workday as well as ETL tools such as DataStage, SSIS, or Power Center will make you a standout candidate.
