Role Overview: The Senior Product Engineer role demands deep technical expertise and strong leadership to oversee complex engineering assignments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and successful product lifecycle..
What you’ll do:
Product development and delivery: Lead the entire product development lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, debugging, and deployment of features and components.
Technical leadership and mentorship: Provide technical guidance, set and enforce engineering best practices, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of quality and innovation.
Product strategy and innovation: Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define the product roadmap, prioritize features, and stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability. This includes conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for production issues.
Cross-functional collaboration: Act as a key liaison between engineering, product, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure effective communication and alignment on product goals.
Quality assurance and compliance: Ensure products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements by managing testing efforts, conducting design reviews, and supporting audits.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including product specifications, design documents, test results, and training materials.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as computer science, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
Experience: A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in product development or a related engineering field, with a proven track record of bringing products to market.
Technical skills: Proficiency in key technologies and tools relevant to the product. For hardware, it might include CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
Methodologies: Experience with Agile or other relevant development methodologies.
Project management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, allocate resources effectively, and meet deadlines.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Problem-solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to tackle complex technical and production issues.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Business acumen: A strong understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and the overall business strategy to ensure product success.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
