Enterprise Release Management
Position Summary
The Senior Project/Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the organization’s bi-weekly enterprise release across multiple applications, teams, and environments. This role leads complex technical projects while managing the full release lifecycle to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.
This position requires strong expertise in project management, Agile practices, and cross-team release coordination. The Senior Project/Release Manager provides clear governance, drives release readiness, manages risks and dependencies, and ensures alignment across engineering, QA, DevOps, product, and business stakeholders. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of enterprise release processes, tooling, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Release Management
- Own planning and execution of the bi-weekly enterprise release across multiple applications and teams.
- Coordinate release schedules across development, QA, staging, UAT, and production environments.
- Manage the full release lifecycle, including:
- Release planning
- Readiness reviews
- Deployment coordination
- Post-release validation and reporting
- Identify, track, and mitigate cross-team risks, dependencies, and conflicts.
- Facilitate release go/no-go decisions with technical and business stakeholders.
- Maintain release calendars, runbooks, status dashboards, and communication channels.
- Provide structured, timely updates to leadership on release status, risks, and outcomes.
- Drive improvements in release governance, automation, compliance, and standardization.
Project and Program Management
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex technical projects.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts across engineering, QA, DevOps, product, and business teams.
- Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, dashboards, and governance artifacts.
- Communicate project progress, milestones, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure adherence to organizational standards, processes, and security requirements.
- Support strategic initiatives and multi-team programs with complex dependencies.
Agile Facilitation (as assigned)
- Serve as Scrum Master for designated teams or initiatives.
- Facilitate sprint ceremonies, including planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Remove impediments and promote team effectiveness and delivery predictability.
- Provide transparency into sprint goals, progress, and risks.
- Encourage a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in Release Management and/or IT Project Management in Agile environments.
- Experience coordinating releases across multiple teams and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise-scale release environments.
- Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master (CSM/PSM), SAFe, or Release Management credentials.
- Experience working with distributed or global engineering teams.

- Continuous Improvement: Drives enhancements to release processes, automation, and governance.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum frameworks and SDLC best practices.
- Experience with project and release tracking tools such as:
- Jira
- Confluence
- ServiceNow
- Microsoft Excel or similar reporting tools
- Ability to understand system integrations, backend services, and technical dependencies.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation (preferred).
