Fieldwire, a SaaS based software service provider for construction management, is looking for an experienced senior automation engineer for our Frontend platform to join our talented QA team. Quality and availability of our platform is of utmost importance to Fieldwire and its customers, QA plays a critical role in ensuring we maintain the high-quality bar our customers have to expect from us. Through automation, our goal is to build a continuous feedback loop to improve our software development lifecycle. Our applications are built using modern and reliable tools, including Typescript, Angular, and Bootstrap and are designed for simplicity, reliability and performance.
The web team at Fieldwire builds and maintains the web app used by our customers. Our engineering teams are multi-functional and collaborate closely with product and design. Fieldwire's apps are mission critical for the construction teams that use Fieldwire every day to save time and money on the jobsite.
What you’ll be doing
You will join the automation team on the web platform and create long-lasting foundations at Fieldwire. You will be working directly with the various front-end teams to maintain and increase our automation footprint, improve and strengthen our automation frameworks, and leading automation initiatives for the QA and web teams.
A day in the life of a Senior QA Automation Engineer will be frequently solving these types of problems:
- Create, execute, and maintain automated tests to validate UI functionality
- Integrate automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines to deliver fast feedback
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks
- Work closely with our manual QA testers to identify areas that need automated test coverage
- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers on best practices in automation and test design
- Continuously improve test automation processes, tools, and frameworks to increase efficiency and reliability
- Work with feature teams to deliver test results as part of the release sign off process
At Fieldwire, we’re looking for our next Senior QA Automation Engineer to have the following skills and experiences:
- 5+ years of experience working as an automation engineer (QA Automation or SDET)
- 4+ years of contributing test automation for the web (Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in Typescript and/or JavaScript
- Experience building scalable and resilient tests utilizing both APIs and UI automation
- Experience with CI/CD tools like CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild or Jenkins
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code and establish best practices
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience mentoring or leading junior QA automation engineers

Compensation
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: $150,000-$175,000.
The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary you may be eligible for a corporate bonus which can range up to 20%.
Where is the job located?
This role is fully remote within the US or in the beautiful city of San Francisco, CA. Our office is located right off of Embarcadero Bart station. Easily accessible by all forms of public transportation.
