Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior QA Engineer to work on Qualys’ next-generation data platform and middleware. You will work closely with a team of engineers and architects to design, automate, and execute tests for highly distributed, large-scale systems that power a highly scalable SaaS-based cloud security data platform. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to Qualys’ next-generation microservices-based technology platform, which processes over 100 million transactions and terabytes of data per day. You will have the chance to leverage open source technologies and work on challenging, business-impacting projects.

This position is based in our Pune office in India and requires close collaboration with QA teams and engineering partners in the Bay Area, California, and North Carolina.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Data Platform development team to identify, document, and validate defects, monitor fixes, and ensure high-quality releases.

Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for distributed, large-scale systems.

Contribute to the implementation of the test automation framework and enhance the existing framework for scalability and efficiency.

Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, SecOps, and product teams to ensure platform reliability, quality, and performance.

Perform system-level debugging, log analysis, and root cause investigation for complex issues.

Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and provide input on testability and quality improvements.

Ensure test cases and results are well-documented, traceable, and integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4 to 8 years of professional experience in Automation Testing using Java with TestNG.
• Strong hands-on experience in automation framework design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Solid experience testing distributed systems, data pipelines, or data platforms.
• Good knowledge of Linux and Shell Scripting.
• Proficiency in test automation using Python and Java.
• Experience with tools such as JUnit, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, or Pytest.
• Familiarity with containerized environments and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Solid understanding of system-level debugging, log analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of relational databases and ability to integrate SQL queries into test automation.
• Familiarity with distributed databases such as Cassandra, Kafka, or Redis is a plus.
• Experience with tools like JIRA, GIT, Zephyr.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
