Discovery - Medical & Scientific Expertise Center
We help clients reinvent pharma discovery, elucidate disease biology, innovate novel therapeutics, and accelerate drug development to create breakthrough science and increase the probability of R&D success and patient outcomes . We're passionate about accelerating transformation in research and early development so clients can build capabilities in programmable biology across therapeutic modalities. Our integrated approach is multidisciplinary and led by science.
What You'll Do :

• Collect scientific evidence to answer a scientific question or problem by p erforming advanced searches on research publication indexes and p rioritizing evidence based on strength of the research ;
• Summarizing results of the analysis into the framework and pressure tests available evidence and assesses the overall level of confidence in supporting a scientific claim ;
• Provide SME support for various scientific strategy , scientific technical projects ;
• Creates project plans aimed at gathering evidence and communicating results to a layman audience by b reaking down complex scientific questions into sub-questions , r esearching and creating evidence summarization frameworks , p resenting and defending the plan to senior leadership ;
• Teach and train colleagues and clients on specific scientific topics by p resenting papers of interest in journal clubs and summarizing the results of an experiment using visual schematics, diagrams or ontologies to help the audience understand the open areas of research and how the paper or experiment advances the science ;
• Participates as an active member of scientific community by p reparing for and attending one conference per year and c ontributing to scientific discussions .
• Continues education by keeping up-to-date on the field of expertise by r e ading, and re searching the latest publications on a given topic , and a ttending conferences once per year and summarizing them to multi-disciplinary teams .
• Fluency in English with a c lient-first mentality
• Intense work ethic which requires c ollaborative spirit and problem-solving approach

What You'll Bring :

• Have completed and defended a research thesis advancing the knowledge or state of the art on one of the topics above ( Masters or PhD)
• Must be able to understand and summarize scientific research and articulate in scientific vocabulary on one of the topics above as demonstrated by:
• Having been invited to present summarized findings in conferences or journal clubs
• Must be able to think in systems, as demonstrated by:
• Having created schematic diagrams, PowerPoint decks or other systems-thinking based mappings to explain a complex biological or biochemical process
• Having devised and carried out an end-to-end project from inception to presentation of results
• Being able to describe several reasons to explain a scientific observation or phenomena
• Must be able to identify gaps in knowledge and fill those gaps with the necessary research as demonstrated by:
• Having formulated hypothesis and followed up with collecting of literature-based evidence supporting/rejecting the hypothesis
• Having created a systematic review deck or written a systematic review paper
• Having contributed to the state-of-the-art section in papers, presentations or grant proposals

Travel is a requirement at ZS for client facing ZSers; business needs of your project and client are the priority. While some projects may be local, all client-facing ZSers should be prepared to travel as needed.
