We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join the Governance Solutions teams in Mumbai.
Overview:
The Governance Solutions Senior Scrum Master is responsible for encouraging the scrum team to follow Agile/Scrum process, coaching them through Agile ceremonies, and facilitating a continuous improvement culture. As a Senior Scrum Master, you'll facilitate clear communication to management and within the team and be proactive in solving problems to help your team(s) succeed. The Scrum Master drives Agile and Lean frameworks that result in quality product delivery and continuous improvement. The Scrum Master is responsible for removing impediments that hinder the team from reaching their goals and has a flexible approach that enables the team to rapidly respond to changes.
Objectives of this role:
- Work with project teams to analyze current systems and processes and design a strategy for adopting Agile best practices.
- Guide teams in how to stay on track with Agile techniques, fine-tuning their approach to ensure that overall strategy is being met.
- Lead Agile workshops for developer and functional teams, as well as for key stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and assigning responsibility.
- Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset, and ensure the organization is adhering to industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all core Scrum events across all Scrum teams assigned.
- Coach team members on the effective utilization of Agile and Scrum.
- Create an environment of collaboration within the teams that allows for open dialogue and productive solutions for resolving conflicts.
- Promote continuous improvement of Agile practices and principles, review and understand metrics, and coach team members on the effective use of Scrum and Agile
- Review and socialize sprint and team metrics to help highlight successes and areas for team improvement
- In partnership with Product Owner(s) collaborate on product roadmaps and the backlog. Helps to make sure everyone on the team understands the projects goals and scope.
- Ensure everyone on the team understands the project’s & sprints goals and scope.
- Guide the team through Agile project planning and commitment.
- Maintain tight coordination and dependency tracking across teams.
- Track, analyze and report on key Agile metrics such as velocity and burndown to monitor progress and team health
- Communicate organizational impediments to leadership, clear impediments for the team.
- Embrace the concept of continuous learning in your own journey and instill the same in the team(s) you coach.
- Instill with the team the value of Transparency | Inspection | Adaptation.
- Lead, and influence by example, a positive servant-leader culture within your teams, department and the organization.
Qualifications:
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Effective communicator with the ability to tailor communication for different audiences
- Data-driven and detail-oriented
- Skilled at removing business and technical impediments.
- Familiarity using JIRA/Atlassian tools on a software development project.
- Possess an executive presence and ability to coach multiple teams across the firm.
Required Experience:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
- 8-12 years’ experience in software development (Dev, QA, PJM) including 5 years’ experience with Agile
Preferred Experience:
- Certified Scrum Master, PSM I, PSM II and/or RTE, SAFe certification preferred.
- Master at JIRA workflow & administration (big plus)
