GoDaddy is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on operations and automation to join our Network Security team! The ideal candidate brings a perspective from SRE or comparable experience to security operations—you're comfortable building automated delivery workflows, managing IAC, and automating away manual processes. You should have strong systems fundamentals and a passion for building tools and platforms that make security teams more effective. What you'll get to do...
- Build and maintain automation infrastructure that supports security operations, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and deployment tooling
- Develop and improve automation for firewall policy management, network access requests, and security workflows
- Manage and maintain security infrastructure through configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet), including patching, compliance, and lifecycle management
- Write and maintain Python-based tools and scripts to support security operations and reduce manual effort
- Partner with security and infrastructure teams to discover opportunities for automation and operational improvements
- Contribute to the reliability and observability of security systems through monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
Your experience should include...
- 7+ years of experience in site reliability, systems, infrastructure, or security operations engineering, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability, and scalable operations
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and building tools that improve system reliability and operational efficiency
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines and practices (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar), and systems provisioning solutions like Ansible or Puppet
- Strong Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills, particularly in RHEL‑based environments, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex, cross‑domain system issues
- Effective communicator and collaborator, comfortable working across diverse technical teams to solve problems, share knowledge, and drive outcomes collectively
You might also have...
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with practical exposure to security operations or network security environments
- Working knowledge of core networking and security concepts, including segmentation, firewalls, routing/switching, and zero‑trust networking and micro segmentation principles
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments, including one or more major platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Hands‑on or working experience with modern infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and containerized workloads using Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., RHCE, CKA, Security+, GSEC), or demonstrated equivalent experience through applied, real‑world work
