Senior Software Development Engineer

In this role, you will collaborate with team leaders, scrum Master, data analysts, and developers to build technology solutions for Equity applications. You should have a strong understanding of Java, JSP, Spring, SQL, Component based architectures and create scalable, flexible technical solutions. You would support existing systems, study their enterprise complexities, and develop/implement better systems with modern software development practices. Developing a good understanding of existing systems on other platforms and its database is a beginning step.
Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Design & develop web and enterprise solutions to be flexible, scalable, & extensible.
• Improve complex data flow, data structures, and DB design to move to the next platform.
• Enforce good agile practices like test driven development, Continuous Integration.
• Hands-on development will be an integral part of the responsibilities.
• Develop areas of continuous and automated deployment.
• Introduce and follow good development practices, innovative frameworks, and technology solutions that help businesses move faster.
• Follow best practices like estimation, planning, reporting and improvement brought to processes in everyday work.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
• 8+ Years of experience.
• Full Stack Developer.
• Experience with AI-augmented development tools like GitHub Copilot and a passion for leveraging AI in software engineering.
• Hands-on in Java/ Web-services / Spring /Spring Boot.
• Very Strong knowledge of databases and hands on MSSQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL and NoSQL DB DynamoDB/MongoDB / react JS or any front-end framework.
• Be aware of activity in the open-source world. Contributing back to open source is a big plus.
• Participation in full life-cycle system development with teams of developers, analysts, and testers.
• Experience with modern development practices in areas of Product design, Requirement Analysis, Test Driven Development, Automation & Unit Testing, in a product development environment.
• Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrate ability to lead and/or provide guidance to junior peers within the team.
• Experienced with web technologies and standards (e.g., JSON, JWT).
• Experienced with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Familiarity with Container orchestration software (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Familiarity with architecture trade-off analysis methods and domain-driven design preferred.

Working Conditions
The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
