We are seeking a dynamic Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Frontend to support R&D Software teams within the Sports Medicine Division. The Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Frontend is the technical lead on critical projects, responsible for designing complex software systems and translating requirements into robust architectures. The role leads software development, testing, and maintenance, drives concept definition and solution selection, and collaborates cross-functionally with Systems Engineering, Design, Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory teams. Responsibilities include leading a global software team, ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO, and industry standards, writing specifications and design documents, conducting peer reviews, and contributing across the full product lifecycle.
What will you be doing?- Serve as the software technical lead on critical projects, responsible for designing complex software systems and subsystems.
- Translate system design inputs into robust software requirements and architectures.
- Lead software development planning, design, documentation, implementation, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Drive concept definition, analysis, and solution selection in collaboration with Systems Engineering, Human Factors, Marketing, and other functions.
- Lead a global team of software engineers, coordinating efforts with internal and external resources.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Delivery, Design & Usability, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and other teams to ensure software system architecture reflects all inputs.
- Report progress to software engineering management and executives to inform and influence decisions.
- Perform design control functions to ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other industry standards.
- Write product specifications and design documents and conduct technical peer reviews of software designs.
- Contribute across the full product lifecycle, including support for products released to market.
- Education: BS in Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent required. MS or PhD in Software Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
- Licenses/ Certifications: AWS Certified Developer is preferred.
- Experience: Should have minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience building web applications using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript (Angular, React, or similar), within a total of 7–10+ years of software development experience.
Competences:(must have)
- Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
- Expertise in integrating RESTful APIs.
- Experience with unit test frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, or similar.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of SDLC best practices, including development infrastructure and tools such as GitLab, JIRA, Jenkins, or similar.
- Skilled in writing software requirements and detailed design specifications.
- Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining complex software applications within AWS Cloud preferred.
- Detailed understanding of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, FDA, and MDR design control requirements for medical devices preferred.
