We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer I for designing, coding, implementation, and maintenance of our code for cloud container image development. This role will be responsible for maintaining audit compliance, security hardening, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with a track record of working within multiple cloud service providers, driving automation and modernization initiatives, and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements. A keen focus on providing high level customer service to our application team partners is required.

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer I for designing, coding, implementation, and maintenance of our code for cloud container image development. This role will be responsible for maintaining audit compliance, security hardening, and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, development, and deployment of master images for use by complex cloud-based applications
- Mentor a team of cloud programmers providing ongoing technical support
- Develop documentation, procedures, and training materials
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
- Join forces with internal security teams and auditors to respond to findings and implement remediation plans
- Collaborate with multiple teams on recommended best practices, security requirements, and efficiency improvements for day-to-day support activities
- Work closely with security, networking, and application teams to ensure secure and efficient operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications
- Develop, maintain and enhance system compliance, alerting, and reporting tools
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or 4+ years of equivalent experience in public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Python programming in AWS and Azure
- 3+ years of experience using automation and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Packer, Ansible, or similar) to produce consistent, repeatable image builds and deployments
- 3+ years of experience with Git-based workflows, including branching strategies, code reviews, and documentation standards
- 3+ years of experience with container runtimes and Kubernetes services
- 2+ years of experience incorporating vulnerability scanning, patching, and secure configuration into container images, and working with security teams to meet compliance requirements
- In-depth knowledge of cloud fundamentals and underlying components
- Proven solid communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills in fast changing environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Developer certification
- Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Developer certification
- Experience designing or operating centrally managed "golden" or "hardened" container image programs consumed by application teams
- Knowledge of image signing, provenance, SBOMs, and software supply chain security practices
- Ability to integrate container image builds into CI/CD pipelines, including versioning, testing, scanning, and promotion through environments
