Senior Software Engineer - Java Springboot, PostgreSQL

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain application software following established AIDLC practices
• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot
• Develop full stack features using JavaScript/React with backend integrations to MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
• Implement event driven and distributed architectures using Apache Kafka
• Externalize application configuration using properties/YAML files, Spring Profiles, and secure configuration sources (e.g., Vault)
• Apply resiliency patterns such as retries, circuit breakers, and fallback strategies
• Develop scheduled and batch jobs within Spring Boot applications
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and related frameworks
• Applied AI Integration (Lightweight)
  • Integrate applications with existing AI services and APIs (e.g., OpenAI compatible or Azure OpenAI) to enable intelligent features
  • Implement simple use cases such as knowledge search, summarization, or automation using prebuilt models and services
  • Collaborate with AI/ML specialists when advanced modeling or optimization is required
  • Ensure AI-enabled features are secure, scalable, and production-ready
• Cloud, Deployment & Operations
  • Deploy, monitor, and support applications on AWS environments
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
  • Monitor application performance and participate in incident resolution and root-cause analysis
  • Support UAT, production releases, and post deployment stabilization
• Quality, Documentation & Support
  • Produce clean, maintainable, and well tested code following engineering best practices
  • Identify and fix defects in both production and non production environments
  • Maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and operational runbooks
• Collaboration & Agile Delivery
  • Work closely with product owners, architects, analysts, and global delivery teams
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives)
  • Communicate status, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
  • Adapt quickly to changing requirements, tools, and technologies

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or application development roles
• Solid hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend services
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in AWS environments
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging/event platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with prompt based AI usage or AI enabled application features
• Proficiency with JavaScript/React for frontend development

  • Experience across the full AIDLC: design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • Solid understanding of object oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Proven ability to write and interpret technical and functional documentation
  • Proven solid debugging and problem solving skills across frontend and backend components
• Professional Skills
  • Experience working in Agile (Scrum or Kanban) environmentsProven solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven self motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies
  • Comfortable working in distributed, cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate or Azure AI Engineer Associate)
• Experience integrating applications with AI or automation services (no model development required)
• Experience working in fast paced, iterative Agile delivery environments
• Experience influencing backend or platform-level design decisions
