Position Summary:
Perforce is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer to produce hardened Enterprise Linux images by managing and extending workflows, automations, and operations to configure Linux packages, services, users/groups to produce distributable secure Enterprise Linux VMs and Containers.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Design and develop distributed systems, ensuring fault tolerance, scalability, and performance.
- Integrate various components to ensure seamless operation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of practices within the team
- May be required to support additional products/brands as needed.
Requirements :
- Extensive experience configuring Linux distributions for use in VMs and Containers
- Familiar with Linux package management and configuration
- Understand service configuration, user configuration and group management
- Understand Linux network facing service configuration, and sudo and ssh configuration
- Knowledge about Packer for VM configuration
- Docker experience and thorough understanding of configuration Linux configurations through Dockerfiles
- Strong experience with automation using shell scripting / Python / Perl, etc
- Experience automating processes and workflows, and using CI systems
- C Programming on Linux
Beneficial, not required:
- Experience using Comply from Puppet for configuration
- Jenkins pipeline experience
- Experience with hardening Linux images
- Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks
- Experience with Scrum
