As a Senior Systems Engineer at Nisum, you will be responsible for managing production operations, collaborating with engineering teams to address technical issues, leading issue resolution efforts, and overseeing deployment and release processes. You should possess strong expertise in Java applications, containerization, and automation while demonstrating excellent organizational and communication skills.

What You'll Do
- Demonstrable experience with production operations issue management and response
- Collaborate with internal support and engineering teams and 3rd party vendors on problems and solutions
- Strong organizational skillset and ability to track multiple issues to resolution
- Ability to lead a technical team of peers toward issue resolution
- Experience utilizing issue/workflow ticket tracking systems
- History of acting as a subject matter expert and training peers and stakeholders
- Deployment and release management experience
- Self-motivated and collaborative
- Good communication skills
What You Know
- A minimum of 7 to 12 years of proven professional experience is required.
- Exceptional skill configuring, running, monitoring, and tuning Java applications running in an Apache/NGINX with Tomcat configuration, JBOSS, WebSphere, WebLogic and JMX Console
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins and SVN is required.
- Containers and Kubernetes experience.
- Good to have one or more scripting languages Shell/Curl Scripting
- Exceptional skill at Linux/Unix bash command line
- Demonstrable preference for approaching work via automation as a first choice
- Good to have experience on Monitoring tools like AppDynamics and ELK/Kibana
- Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing log analysis, application performance management (APM), and real user monitoring (RUM)
- Experience providing hands-on monitoring as well as authoring monitoring and alerting using multiple toolsets
- Track record of success writing English for a business audience
- Exemplary practice in root cause analysis and documenting findings, providing evidence
- Experience writing standard operating procedures and rigorous adherence to same
Education
- A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
