Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled professional with strong technical understanding and exceptional communication skills to drive operational excellence across technology platforms. This role focuses on partnering with platform teams and senior technology leaders to identify and drive execution of key actions that improve resilience, availability, observability, and user experience.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the individual will have the flexibility to lead other key Operational Excellence initiatives as needed, ensuring continuous improvement across the technology organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate monthly connects with platform teams to drive focused actions that enhance technology operational excellence across dimensions such as:
Disaster Recovery (DR) and resilience
Observability and monitoring
Availability and reliability
User experience improvements through addressing recurring non-major incidents
Collaborate with senior technology leaders to influence priorities and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Track progress on agreed actions and provide clear, concise updates to stakeholders.
Analyse operational trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk and enhance system performance.
Drive accountability through clear documentation, tracking, and communication.
Provide excellent clear communication across platform teams.
Lead additional Operational Excellence initiatives beyond monthly connects, adapting to evolving organisational priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong understanding of:
Observability concepts and related tools
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
Disaster Recovery methodologies and best practices
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence very senior technology leaders.
Ability to synthesise complex technical topics into actionable insights and communicate them effectively.
Self-starter: proactive, able to drive asks forward, prioritise effectively.
A collaborative and proactive problem solver: able to connect the right people and resources to achieve outcomes quickly.
Someone who’s organised, detail-oriented: thrives in dynamic and complex multi-stakeholder environments.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with modern observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Exposure to reliability metrics (SLIs, SLOs, SLAs) and incident management frameworks.
Experience working in large-scale technology environments with multiple platform teams.
