Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join our Product Documentation team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining high-quality, user-friendly documentation for Pathlock's enterprise-grade, cloud-based, and on-premise products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the product, ensure accuracy, and deliver exceptional content that empowers users.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborative Development: Partner with product managers, knowledge engineers, developers, and quality engineers to gather technical information and insights. Engage in interviews with subject matter experts to deepen your understanding of product functionality. Explore and experiment with the product to gain hands-on knowledge.

Documentation Excellence: Create and maintain diverse documentation, including Online help, integration guides, and REST API documentation. Tutorials, release notes, and solution-oriented use cases. Knowledge-based articles and in-app messaging for IT administrators and end-users. Ensure content adheres to industry standards, follows best practices in technical communication, and caters to varied audience groups.

Quality Assurance: Review documentation for structure, clarity, technical accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines. Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement updates. Propose innovative strategies to enhance documentation processes, standards, and user experience.

Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior writers, sharing best practices and ensuring content quality. Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines, share feedback, and integrate new content seamlessly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Writing Expertise: 10–15 years of experience in technical writing, with a proven ability to translate complex concepts into accessible documentation. Strong grasp of current trends and best practices in technical communication.

Markdown Syntax Proficiency: Expertise in using Markdown to create well-structured content, including tables, lists, links, images, and code blocks. Familiarity with embedding inline visuals, optimizing for user engagement.

Tools Proficiency

• Version Control and Collaboration: Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Desktop, and GitLab for version control and collaboration. Ability to handle workflows like cloning, committing, merging, and resolving conflicts.
• API Documentation Tools: Experience with Swagger, Postman, and tools for documenting REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Content Creation Tools: GitBook, Confluence, Atlassian JIRA, and Kanban boards.
• Visualization Tools: Proficiency in tools like Lucidchart, Visio, PlantUML, and Mermaid for creating diagrams and workflows.
• Web Technologies: Knowledge of HTML, CSS, YAML, and JSON for advanced formatting and configuration documentation.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

Desired Skills: Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) for automating documentation tasks. Knowledge of identity management, governance, and compliance concepts. Proficiency in multimedia tools like Camtasia for creating video tutorials is a plus.
