Overview
A Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer ensures the reliability and performance of high-scale eCommerce platforms. The role bridges technical validation with business logic, focusing on storefront features, complex integrations, and the backend Business Manager configurations.
Key Responsibilities
- eCommerce Workflow Validation: Testing end-to-end customer journeys including Catalog Management, Pricing & Promotions, Cart/Checkout, and Order Lifecycle Management.
- SFCC Business Manager Configuration: Validating data setups for products, content assets, inventory, and site source codes within the SFCC administration panel.
- Integration Testing: Verifying third-party services such as Payment Gateways (e.g., Adyen, Stripe), Tax providers (Avalara), Shipping methods, and Order Management Systems (OMS).
- Technical Verification: Testing Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA) implementations, including pipelines, controllers, and ISML templates.
- Cross-Platform Testing: Conducting rigorous cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure a consistent customer experience.
- Defect Management: Identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Typically requires 8+ years in QA, with at least 2 years specifically in the SFCC/Demandware ecosystem.
- Technical Stack:
- Automation: Proficiency in Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or WebDriverIO.
- API Testing: Hands-on experience with Postman or REST Assured, specifically for OCAPI/SCAPI.
- Web Technologies: Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/Node.js.
- Methodologies: Expert knowledge of Agile/Scrum environments and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Certifications: While not always mandatory, a Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer or QA-specific certifications are highly valued.
