Job Title: SMTP Architect
Location: Pune
Shift: 12.30 PM to 9.30 PM IST
You will be part of End User Computing group.End User Computing (EUC) designs, delivers and supports technology products at the core of the workplace environment which directly impacts user experience and enable productivity and collaboration.Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure & Security Architect to lead the technical design and security strategy for our SMTP/email modernization initiative. This role combines deep expertise in messaging infrastructure with advanced security capabilities to ensure a resilient, compliant, and secure mail flow across hybrid environments.Your key responsibilities• Design and optimize SMTP relay architecture for high availability and fault tolerance. • Define network topology for secure mail routing through DMZ, firewalls, and load balancers. • Integrate Exchange Online and hybrid deployments with secure email gateways (Proofpoint or equivalent). • Implement TLS/SSL encryption for all SMTP traffic. • Configure SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for domain protection. • Embed advanced threat protection and phishing defense mechanisms. • Conduct risk assessments for SMTP modernization changes. • Develop mitigation strategies for vulnerabilities in mail routing and authentication. • Partner with Solution Architect, Network Security, and Cloud teams to align infrastructure and security with modernization goals. • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams during implementation.Your skills and experience • Deep knowledge of SMTP protocol and RFC standards. • Expertise in Exchange Online and on-premises messaging systems. • Strong understanding of DNS/MX records, SPF/DKIM/DMARC configuration. • Experience with secure email gateways (Proofpoint, Cisco ESA, etc.). • Network security fundamentals (firewalls, DMZ, TLS). • High availability and disaster recovery design for messaging systems. • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOx, GDPR, ISO 27001). • Scripting and automation (Python preferred). • Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF 9 or ArchiMate, ITIL Foundation or Intermediate, Proofpoint Certified SpecialistPersonal traits and Leadership Capabilities • Analytical & Detail-Oriented. • Risk aware and Strategic • Influential Communicator. • Collaborative LeaderIf you are keen to join us, you will be part of an organization that values your contributions, recognizes your potential, and provides ample opportunities for growth.
