Your Role – ThingWorx Developer (CRT Team)

As you will play a critical role in supporting customer-reported issues, providing quick resolutions, and contributing to stability and performance improvements for our industrial IoT platform. You’ll be responsible for debugging, enhancing, and optimizing existing ThingWorx applications and services to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve complex customer-reported issues on the ThingWorx platform.
  • Develop and deploy fixes or enhancements to mashups, services, and integrations using ThingWorx Composer and Edge SDKs.
  • Collaborate with QA, Support, and Engineering teams to reproduce, diagnose, and fix defects.
  • Optimize mashup and service performance in customer environments.
  • Create tools or utilities to assist in rapid debugging and support.
  • Provide post-release support and actively participate in hotfix development.
  • Document fixes and contribute to internal knowledge bases for recurring issues.
  • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on issue resolution and stability.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience with the PTC ThingWorx platform – including Mashups, Thing Templates, Data Shapes, Services.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (server-side scripting within ThingWorx) and basic Java.
  • Familiarity with ThingWorx Edge SDKs (Java or C) for edge device communication.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, and data integration techniques.
  • Experience with log analysis and debugging tools in cloud or on-prem environments.
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman, Wireshark, and system logs for troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT) and connectivity with Kepware.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience working in customer-facing or support-driven roles.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, version control (Git), and scripting (Python, Bash).
  • PTC certifications or exposure to ThingWorx 9.x/10.x environments.
  • Understanding of ThingWorx licensing and PingFederate-based authentication (SSO).
