The Software Development Engineer will design and develop OpenText Exstream applications, writing scripts in KSH and Python, and ensuring application integration within an Agile/Scrum framework. Responsibilities include full lifecycle software development, system performance monitoring, supporting testing, and collaborating with technical teams to resolve issues.
We are looking for an experienced OpenText Exstream Developer to design and develop Exstream Applications using Exstream Design Manager. This role involves developing scripts in KSH, Python, and possibly C#, working in an Agile/Scrum environment, and ensuring seamless integration of applications. You will collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to design and develop solutions across all layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and configure OpenText Exstream applications based on functional specifications.
- Write and maintain scripts in KSH, Python, and C# for automation and integration.
- Participate in full lifecycle software development, including coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
- Support system and solution integration testing and user acceptance testing.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and team quality procedures.
- Assist in release management, configuration management, and ticket management.
- Work closely with client-facing teams to provide technical support and resolve application issues.
- Monitor system performance, conduct maintenance, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Implement best practices in Exstream Dialogue upgrades and enhancements.

- 4–8 years of experience in IT, with expertise in OpenText Exstream development.
- Hands-on experience in creating variables, mapping data files, and configuring driver files.
- Ability to design and develop Exstream interactive components for on-demand letters.
- Proficiency in creating tables, charts, outputs, business rules, barcodes, and placeholders.
- Experience in Linux/UNIX environments, with knowledge of shell scripting (KSH).
- Familiarity with database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server.
- Knowledge of programming languages like C#, .NET, Python is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments (SAFe knowledge is a plus).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with OpenText Exstream version upgrades and maintenance.
- Ability to analyze problems and propose effective solutions.
- Familiarity with Windows OS, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise software deployment.
