About the Role
Clari is looking for Software Engineers who are passionate about building groundbreaking AI-driven enterprise-grade applications using leading-edge cloud technologies.
In this role, you'll join our Conversational Intelligence team, developing systems to capture and process conversations, and enable advanced AI features with state-of-the-art models. You'll build highly scalable applications that deliver valuable insights from vast amounts of data.
This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Bengaluru, India office as needed. Candidates must be based in India.
Responsibilities
- Applied GenAI Engineering: Design and ship micro-services that combine retrieval augmented generation (RAG), prompt pipelines, and tool calling agents for use-cases such as summarisation, Q&A, topic-detection, sentiment scoring, agentic workflow, multi-agent orchestration, large data pipeline etc
- Evaluation & Safety: Own offline + online eval harnesses (BLEU, ROUGE, human-in-the-loop, red-teaming) and put AI guard-rails in place (PII filtering, toxicity checks)
- Fast Iteration: Pair with PMs & designers to run A/B tests, ship weekly behind feature flags, and iterate based on usage signals
- Technical Depth: Contribute Python production code (FastAPI/Ray) plus tests; review PRs, write design docs, and champion best practices for other product squads integrating LLMs
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience developing backend applications, with strong proficiency in Python (typing, async, pytest etc).
- Solid understanding of scalable backend architectures.
- Good knowledge of backend fundamentals: REST/GraphQL, distributed queues (Kafka/SQS), SQL (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- Comfortable working in Kubernetes-based environments and deploying applications in the cloud (AWS preferred)
- Understanding of multi-threading, data replication, and cloud-native design patterns
- Proven ability to deliver reliable, data-driven applications at scale
- Experience with GenAI, ML/LLM framework (PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, or LangChain/LlamaIndex etc), Prompt Engineering (prompt engineering, temperature / top‑p tuning, token‑cost optimisation etc), vector databases / search stacks (Elasticsearch k‑NN, Pinecone, FAISS, or equivalent) will be a plus.
- Clear written & verbal communication; able to explain trade‑offs to both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders
