Job responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux-based systems and Infrastructure as Code tools across development, testing, and production environments.
- Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible for system configuration and application deployment.
- Create and manage batch job workflows using Control-M, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Write and maintain Python scripts for automation, integration, and monitoring purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to support CI/CD processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployment, and automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Hands-on experience with the Linux operating system, including system administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience in Ansible scripting for infrastructure automation.
- Hands-on experience in writing and maintaining Control-M job scripts.
- Proficiency in Python and GO scripting for various automation tasks.
- Good understanding of CI/CD practices, version control (e.g., Git), and the software development lifecycle.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks.
