As a Software Engineer on the Professional Services team, you will regularly encounter new challenges, designing solutions with reusability in mind. Work with clients to gather requirements, write precise scopes, and build custom solutions that extend and integrate HotDocs with various third-party platforms. This role requires strong hands-on development skills in C# and .NET Core, experience with APIs and SQL databases.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:- Collaborate with team members in a SCRUM-based Agile environment.
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions that integrate HotDocs with third-party platforms.
- Develop configurable user interfaces and custom front-end experiences to support client needs.
- Implement APIs (REST, occasionally SOAP) for data exchange between systems.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and storage.
- Work with Azure services for cloud-based integrations.
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions with clients, defining scope.
- Provide consultative services to clients integrating with HotDocs.
- Provide regular updates to Project Managers, including time logging and estimate adjustments.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong experience with C# and .NET Core for backend development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, AJAX, and jQuery for front-end functionality.
- Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs (SOAP experience is a plus).
- Strong SQL skills for data querying, manipulation, and performance optimization.
- Azure experience (HotDocs Advance cloud runs on Azure; familiarity with AWS is also beneficial).
- Ability to gather and document client requirements effectively.
- Experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in Professional Services, or Client-facing role.
- Familiarity with Angular (as modernization efforts move toward it).
- Experience working with document automation tools (HotDocs API experience is a plus).
- Background in LegalTech, workflow automation, or enterprise document management.
- Accurate time estimation skills.
