The Reliability Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring Crunchyroll fans have an exceptional anime experience across Web Browsers and consumer electronic devices - including TVs, set-top boxes, and game consoles.
As part of this dynamic team, you’ll help shape the future of quality at scale by developing automated tests, tools, frameworks and infrastructure. Your work will enable us to move faster, scale efficiently, and deliver exceptional anime experiences to even more fans around the globe.
What you will be doing:- Develop automated tests and tools for the consumer electronics devices our fans use to enjoy Crunchyroll, with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Innovatively create and develop techniques to automate manual activities in our development and testing process
- Own the end-to-end tests executed in our CI/CD pipeline, with responsibility for triaging failures and reporting results
- Operate in a highly cross-functional environment where you can leverage multiple teams to help our partners be successful
- Set direction and build consensus to drive long-term positive impact on the engineering ecosystem
- Evangelize and drive adoption of software development best practices in code health, quality and test stability through frameworks and information sharing, not rules and process
- We are looking for a creative and highly motivated individual who is excited to take on challenging projects and help drive the future of scaling partner device reliability
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and/or 5+ years of practical experience
- Experience building automated tests for web applications leveraging HTML5
- Strong proficiency in Javascript/Typescript for test automation. Experience with Kotlin is highly valuable.
- Proven experience with web test automation frameworks, particularly Appium, Selenium WebDriver and WebdriverIO.
- Strong experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions.
- A passion for quality and innovation
- Experience developing, managing, and automating test cases, test harnesses and frameworks, as well as expertise in utilizing the latest technologies and tools will be essential
- Practical experience developing automation to run on consumer electronics devices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other engineers, product managers and program managers.
