Job Responsibility:
- Build new and ongoing products and services, including MCP framework with Agentic AI offerings, in SmartBear’s domains: API Design and Management, Testing and Observability.
- Primarily Focused on AI and MCP-style workflows atop SmartBear's existing products.
- Rapidly validate the feasibility of new use cases from research ideas
- Maintain an appreciation for the end-user product experience and use this knowledge to inform system implementation trade-offs
- Perform code reviews across the front-to-back-end stack and ensure a standard of high engineering quality throughout the small, but growing, engineering team.
- Deliver working code on-time and own the experience post-production
- Measure success and iterate on technical designs to improve the overall product experience
Skills Required:
- 4+ Years of experience in Python with MCP, Flask/FastAPI, agentic frameworks (LangGraph/LangChain), containerized via Docker and deployed on AWS with GitHub for version control
- Proficient in HTTP, REST, MCP and the client/server architecture and possess expertise in vector/NoSQL databases.
- Full-stack experience with RESTful backends (NoSQL/MySQL, S3) and frontends using TypeScript/JavaScript with HTML/CSS.
- Demonstrated ability of completing software projects, individually and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability of taking ambiguous or ill-defined requirements and problem statements, and rapidly converting them into working code, with quality
- Writing, reviewing and maintaining production code and consistently course-correcting to stay aligned to an innovative product strategy in AI.
- Outstanding proactive communication skills in English
