We have a hybrid work culture. 3 days a week working from the Hyderabad office during core working hours and 2 days working from home.
Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Manager of Sustaining Software Engineering to lead our Hyderabad-based sustaining engineering team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for guiding a team of senior/principal engineers who own customer escalations, develop enterprise-grade tooling, and ensure the serviceability and reliability of Nasuni’s enterprise file data platform.
As the Sustaining Engineering Manager, you will…
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of sustaining engineers in Hyderabad.
- Establish technical and process excellence in escalation handling and defect resolution.
- Partner with Customer Support to ensure timely resolution of P1/P2 issues.
- Guide engineers in building automation, diagnostics, and tooling that improve supportability.
- Collaborate with Core Engineering to feed insights into future product designs.
- Drive metrics-based improvements to reduce repeat escalations and MTTR.
- Represent Nasuni engineering leadership during critical and high priority escalation events.
- Represent sustaining engineering in global engineering and customer success leadership forums.
Required skills + experience we look for are…
- 8-12 years of experience in enterprise storage or infrastructure software development.
- 2+ years in engineering management, leading teams of senior/principal-level engineers.
- Strong background in C/C++, Python, and Linux systems internals.
- Expertise in debugging complex distributed/storage environments.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, authentication protocols (AD/LDAP), and performance tuning.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Track record of building high-performing teams in global environments.
It’s a bonus if you have…
- Experience scaling sustaining or escalation engineering teams for SaaS or hybrid-cloud products.
- Familiarity with hypervisors (ESX, Hyper-V, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to PostgreSQL, CI/CD tooling, and system packaging (rpm/yum).
Location
This position is based in Hyderabad, India, working as part of a global, follow-the-sun sustaining engineering model.
Experience:
- BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech in computer science (or) Electronics and Communications (or) MCA
- 8 to 12 years’ previous experience in the industry. At least 7+ years of experience in similar sustaining type environment.
