Job Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with system functional safety engineering in the development of the technical safety concept with focus on SW.
- Support the SW architect in the development of the functional safety concept.
- Review SW related safety requirements (SYS, HSI, SW).
- Collaborate with the SW architect in the preparation of information needed for SW safety analyses (e.g. critical paths).
- Perform / coordinate SW safety analyses (SW-FMEA, DFA) to identify potential failure modes and their impact on safety.
- Develop and maintain SW safety analyses reports.
- Provide guidance and support to software development teams on safety-related topics, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and safety validation techniques.
- Represent SW functional safety in customer meetings.
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required (Mechanical, electrical, electronics preferred)
- Strong knowledge of functional safety standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262.
- 5y+ of experience in software development for highly safety-critical systems (ASIL C/D) in the automotive industry.
- Experience with decomposition of safety requirements/goals within software.
- Proficiency in safety analysis techniques, such as FMEA and DFA.
- Familiarity with software development processes and methodologies, including Agile and V-model.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certification (TÜV, EQCI, or similar) in functional safety (ISO 26262).
- Experience with automotive safety-related standards, such as ASPICE, AUTOSAR, etc..
- Knowledge of functional safety for applications in the field of electric drives (or sound knowledge of the functioning of electric drives)
- Ideally, relevant professional experience in the automotive environment or in the field of drive technology
