About the job:
The Red Hat Global Telco Services team is looking for a Solution Architect to join us in Pune/Bangalore/Chennai/Delhi-NCR, India. As Solution Architect, you are a highly skilled professional who designs Red Hat cloud solutions, focused on RH OCP and OSP to fit our customers’ needs. As Domain Architect you act as a trusted advisor, partnering with the customer on its needs to end-to-end architecture on one specialized domain. You understand and capture the critical inputs of the client and third parties and translate them into effective requirements and solutions. You research, design, plan, develop and evaluate an effective solution in specialized domains, specifically focusing on Cloud NFV/SDN architectures to meet customer’s requirements and outcomes, translate those into high as well as low level design of architecture. You apply solution architecture standards processes and principles, to create and maintain a solution's integrity over time. You develop the full scope of the solution, focusing on the Cloud architecture part, working across organizations to achieve workable solutions.
You will be required to understand the culture and needs of the customers and internal teams in terms of technology and competencies. You need to be motivated and curious with a passion for contributing to the success of the business by contributing in a winning team.
What will you do:
You are in the most strategic crossroads of the digital transformation of Red Hat into Software and Cloud Native applications, between the Cloud platforms R&D and the Customer Network & Application teams.
You bridge between the RH cloud products (OCP, OSP and custom solutions based on the same) R&D and the Customer application domain Architects and Delivery engineers on a global scale
You identify problems and risks early; explicitly highlight obstacles and proposes actions to address them.
You apply solution architecture methodology, best practices, state of the art knowledge of network, applications & operations portfolio, processes and principles to create value for the Red Hat customer and for Red Hat.
You participate as an expert during the tender process to support the building and writing of the proposals
Your work typically includes in depth assessment of the technologies, markets and customer’s needs, consulting to further clarify the needs, modelling and simulation plan to improve the solution and engineering to deliver solutions.
You continuously innovate so that products, processes, and services better serve customer’s needs.
You translate customer’s requirements to design the full scope of the solution in the domain, to achieve workable end-to-end solutions including Red Hat products and third-party sub-systems as defined.
You ensure solution feasibility of the solution from technical, migration, integration, operation and maintenance perspective.
You maintain the integrity & the consistency of the solution on its domain over the whole project cycle
What will you bring:
Expertise in OCP/OSP/OSO components of Red Hat cloud portfolio. Nokia NCP/NHRO would be added advantage
Hands-on Expertise Openstack & Kubernetes is a must
Expertise in HEAT templates for application to be hosted on Cloud platforms. Ansible, Mistral concepts would be advantageous.
Expertise in NFVI/VIM, VNFM, NFVO and SDN technologies.
Experience and background in infrastructure, system and IT (Linux servers, Virtualization, containerization, External Storage Solutions
Expertise in Containers, Kubernetes and Microservices concepts
You have gained extended (practical) knowledge of L2 and L3 IP architectures and network models (MPLS, routers,), IP/MPLS access, aggregation & edge, IP/MPLS/DWDM converged core
Previous Solution Architecture and design experience with at least 15+ years on business experience in a customer service or technical support environment within a technology-oriented company or department
Proven ability to learn and apply new skills and processes rapidly and coach, mentor, influence others around them
Ability to adapt to changes quickly and be a change catalyst
Demonstrated leadership experience with focus on improving associate and customer experience
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure
Ability to work in process-driven environments as well as in contexts where consultation with colleagues, taking initiative, and making judgement calls is necessary
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with customers, third party vendors, and Red Hat associates
Knowledge of support systems and tools considered
An appreciation of, and passion for open-source software would be an advantage
Personally committed to quality, and love working in a customer facing environment
Operate autonomously and are result driven ensuring ownership and accountability
You are flexible in taking up different roles and tackling multiple technologies
Strong negotiation and communication skills, and capable of showing technical and organizational leadership.
