The Solutions Architect is a strategic, client-facing leader responsible for guiding the successful delivery of complex, customized Salesforce solutions built on our proprietary managed package. This role derives clarity from ambiguity, translating organizational needs into actionable technical direction while proactively leading the development team and influencing client decision-making.
The Solutions Architect acts as a trusted advisor to clients and an internal leader within delivery teams. This role proactively drives progress – identifying next steps, defining technical approaches, and guiding both the client and the development team toward successful outcomes.
The Solutions Architect will serve as the primary technical authority on projects, owning solution architecture, ensuring high-quality execution, and enabling our clients to adopt and scale with confidence within the Salesforce platform.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Leadership & Solution Ownership
Lead technical discovery and requirements definition sessions with clients to understand business needs, pain points, and desired outcomes.
Translate client requirements into comprehensive solution design documentation, data models, integration patterns, and functional logic using our managed package capabilities.
Serve as the primary technical advisor and escalation point for clients, ensuring all proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with platform standards.
Bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring shared understanding of objectives and solution impacts.
Guide clients through best practices for nonprofits/associations on Salesforce, ensuring solutions are scalable and user-friendly.
Own and document the end-to-end technical solution architecture, including data models, integrations, and configuration frameworks.
Partner with Project Managers to proactively manage technical scope, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
Direct and mentor developers, providing clear technical approaches and ensuring delivery aligns with architectural standards.
Provide clear technical direction and hands-on oversight to developers, ensuring code and configuration align with solution design.
Own technical work breakdown, level of effort estimates, and development sequencing in partnership with the Project Manager.
Proactively monitor technical progress, remove blockers, and hold delivery teams accountable to quality and timeline expectations.
Review and validate implemented functionality to ensure alignment with the approved design and platform best practices.
Identify opportunities to streamline delivery through reusable components and standardized approaches.
Define integration strategies leveraging Salesforce APIs, middleware tools, or ETL platforms.
Support data migration planning and execution across staging, UAT, and production environments.
Ensure compliance with Salesforce security models, data governance, and performance best practices.
Contribute to internal technical governance — helping define and evolve delivery methodologies, templates, and reference architectures.
Provide feedback to product teams to enhance our managed package capabilities based on real-world client use cases.
Contribute reusable components, reference architectures, and internal delivery standards to improve implementation efficiency.
Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert across the Professional Services team.
Partner with other architects and consultants to develop best practices and technical enablement materials for the broader Professional Services team.

Required Education and Experience:
6+ years of hands-on Salesforce implementation experience, including declarative configuration and custom development oversight.
Proven experience leading technical design on multi-phase, multi-org, or highly customized Salesforce solutions.
Deep understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities — including data modeling, automation, security, and integration options.
Strong client-facing consulting skills—confident leading conversations, managing expectations, and influencing stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage and influence both clients and internal teams to drive alignment and action.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative, client-focused approach.
Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall) and technical documentation practices.
Experience with source control, deployment tools, and work management systems (Git, Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.).
Expert knowledge of Salesforce platform capabilities (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud), data modeling, and integration patterns.
Familiarity with software development processes, version control, and work management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Git).
Effective communicator able to simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience with managed packages or industry-specific Salesforce applications, particularly for nonprofit or association clients.
Salesforce certifications such as:
Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II
Salesforce Certified Experience Cloud / Nonprofit Cloud Consultant
Experience leading geographically distributed or cross-functional technical teams.
Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Agile and hybrid waterfall models.
Experience guiding offshore / remote teams.
