The Position

Position Summary
As a Senior Learning Partner at Roche, you lead a team of Learning Partners and are recognized as a subject matter expert in the field of Learning and Development with expertise in adult learning, consulting, and project management, with deep knowledge and proven experience in all. In addition to leading a team of Learning Partners, this role focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive learning strategies that drive performance and engagement. You will utilize your adult learning expertise to partner with senior business leaders to address their strategic business learning needs to drive the development, execution, and evaluation of innovative learning journeys and solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, strategic planning, and analytical skills to influence and enhance the overall employee learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Learning Partners, empowering them to take ownership of their projects and fostering an environment of trust and collaboration.
  • Strategic Alignment: Align the team's efforts with organizational goals and ensure that learning and development strategies support overall business objectives.
  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources to maximize the impact of learning initiatives.

Learning & Development Strategy

  • Needs Assessment: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities within the organization.
  • Program Design: Design, develop, and implement innovative learning programs that are aligned with business needs and leverage best practices in adult learning.
  • Evaluation & Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives and continuously improve programs based on feedback and performance data.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partnership Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and ensure the alignment of learning initiatives.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate the value and impact of learning programs to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Change Management: Support organizational change initiatives through targeted learning interventions that build capability and readiness for change.

Technology & Innovation

  • Learning Technologies: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in learning and development to incorporate innovative solutions.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data analytics to drive decisions and demonstrate the impact of learning programs on organizational performance.

Operational Excellence

  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the efficient and effective delivery of learning programs.
  • Compliance: Ensure all learning and development activities comply with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously strive to simplify processes and eliminate waste to streamline learning operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for learning materials and delivery methods to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in learning and development initiatives and develop mitigation plans to address them.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of all learning activities and generate reports to provide insights into program effectiveness and ROI.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Engagement Rate: Percentage of employees actively engaging in learning programs.
Learning Impact Score: Measurement of the effectiveness of learning programs based on pre- and post-assessments.
Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback scores from business leaders on the relevance and effectiveness of learning solutions.
Time to Competency: Reduction in the time it takes for employees to reach full competency through targeted learning programs.

You bring the following qualifications and capabilities critical to the role:

Master's or Bachelor’s Degree in a focus business area such as Human Resources, Organization Development, Project Management, or equivalent
Advanced degree or certification in Adult Learning preferred
7-10+ years of combined project management and adult learning consultant experience in a global environment; prior consulting or professional services experience preferred; 3+ years of leadership experience (direct or indirect)
You are aware of the key learning technologies and various learning market trends
Proven ability to design and deliver engaging and impactful learning experiences that inspire learners and contribute to business outcomes
Ability to balance strategic thinking and detail-oriented project management to drive work to deadlines and engage stakeholders
Knowledge of Design Thinking, Agile development methodologies, and rapid prototyping is strongly preferred 
Understanding of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in training concepts
Ability to work at a rapid pace and thrive in a highly matrixed global environment full of change and ambiguity
Cornerstone or other cloud-based learning management solutions experience preferred
Proven ability to collaborate and influence across cross-functional teams in a global environment without direct authority
Demonstrated excellence in customer relations, building partnerships, and managing stakeholders at all levels within an organization
Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple projects
Fluent in English required, additional languages a plus (i.e. German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Business travel to support projects on-site as required by business needs
