Sr. Manager, Development (C#, Javascript, JQuery, WCF, ASP.NET MVC and Web API and TDD)

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager of Development to lead multiple product teams at Vertafore India. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete delivery process, ensuring technical excellence, fostering high team engagement, and aligning with both product and business objectives. This is a techno-functional leadership position that requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders in both India and the US.
Core Requirements and Responsibilities:
Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:
Required

• Hands-on experience in designing Solutions for the .NET Platform
• Hands-on end-to-end Database Development encompassing Database Design and Development working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong in writing and analysis complex SQL queries
• Should be able to debug application code written in T SQL for different applications
• Understand the business priorities and requirements; architect/develop solutions to meet the business need and lead execution.
• Work as an individual contributor and collaborate with multiple teams/vendors/consultants in an effective manner.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven leadership and team management experience to manage multiple product development teams to deliver high-quality software products.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation and maintenance.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any issues or concerns.
• Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with ETLs and design of backend for the reporting solutions.
• Experience with Kendo Controls Suite
• Experience with React JS and Node JS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:

• 6-9 years development experience in C#, Javascript, JQuery, WCF, ASP.NET MVC and Web API and TDD practices.

• Strong in writing and analysis of complex SQL queries
• Expertise in analysing and recommending solutions for performance optimization both on front end and backend
• Working experience in Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Strong T-SQL scripting abilities and understanding of complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, normalization and de-normalization techniques.
• Implement and integrate RESTful APIs to facilitate data exchange between front-end and back-end systems.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git and Gitlab).
• Proactively asks questions and learns about our products.
• Effectively multi-tasks and adapts to change.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work productively on various projects simultaneously.
• Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and project timelines.

Nice to have

• Experience in defining and implementing Data warehouse and Data Lakes
• Experience in AWS RDS and Dynamo DB
• Experience in working with Elastic Search or any full text search DB
• Preferable Experience in BigData ETL Tools , preferably in AWS environment
• Analysis Services (SSAS), Microsoft Power BI experience a plus.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).

Qualifications:

• Qualification B.E/MCA/MTech.
• 10 - 12 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a Managerial role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex software Products/Projects.
