Position : Senior Manager, Network Engineering & Operations

Location : Pune
 

We are looking for highly motivated and dynamic, Infrastructure structure Network Engineering Manager with 18 to 20 years of overall experience, with at least last 8+ years in handling Engineering teams responsible to design and deployment of Network platforms and tools. Network Engineering Manager who’s looking to drive continuous improvements in On-Prem, Colo, Cloud Infrastructure structure. Leverage automation and promotes industry best practice in the infrastructure structure organization.

Job Description

The primary role of this position is to plan, direct, and coordinate the installation, maintenance, connectivity, and security of network systems, and providing expertise to the Senior Director, Information Systems in the assessment of short and long-term technology plans and process objectives to support the entire organization, while ensuring a consistent, stable, and secure operation.
The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who has a background in Network Operations Management with strong project and process management and leadership skills. The candidate we are seeking would have a well-rounded background in all technologies and services found in a data center operations management such as Network, Servers, Storage, Connectivity, etc., and other associated technologies supporting multiple internal and external customers.
Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Lead, manage and develop teams of global Network engineers, and lead by example to deliver excellent results in line with business objectives.
  • Conduct the performance management process, provides input for hiring and disciplinary actions, and provides hands-on training to staff.
  • Develop periodic goals, organizes the work, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities, and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
  • Oversee the usage of network resources across the organization, including vendors and third parties.

Product Management

  • Define infrastructure structure strategy to deliver robust and resilient Network platforms, both on-prem and Cloud which will be used by application and infrastructure teams.
  • Evaluate new technologies for appropriate use, empowering a more useful, profitable, and efficient environment. Manages the loss prevention of all Technology Equipment and Intellectual Property. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee the consulting, acquisition, implementation, and support of PC, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, ZTNA and telecommunications systems.
  • Interface with partners in various business areas to determine their needs for information services products and services and to develop solutions to obstacles presented.
  • Assist in determining short- and long-term technology needs and helps to develop a strategy for information services and products.
  • Collaborate and deliver products/services in alignment with needs and objectives.
  • Communicate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.

Project Management

  • Contribute to strategies / initiatives for short-term and long-term network planning, aligned with company direction, goals, and objectives.
  • Provide the design, development, and implementation of information security policies, procedures, and guidelines and facilitates the communication of bank security policies.
  • Evaluate and drive ongoing projects, BAU activities and Operational Support for performance monitoring, automation, scalability, and ensuring security is maintained throughout.
  • Coordinate projects, including determining resources, recommending strategies, developing implementation plans, and preparing status reports.
  • Manage budgetary requirements for capital and expense projects from approvals through depreciation.

Governance Management

  • Ensure appropriate controls and governance are followed when deploying and maintaining infrastructure structure, and deployment of software onto the infrastructure structure.
  • Monitor progress of systems projects, providing technical guidance and assistance. Keeps partner area updated on project status.
  • Review and negotiate vendor contracts; Maintain vendor relationship to remain current on industry developments, trends, and applications.
  • Implement best practices for network technology architecture and management.

Operations Management

  • Manage all aspects of network hardware / software and related technologies (Network and Security devices, Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity, etc.)
  • Direct, motivate, develop and oversee the performance of the Network Operations team.
  • Work closely with AV, Cloud, and End-User Operations to ensure network systems are stable and provide escalation support when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Contribute to stable and secure environment, incident management, product health/patching, and the asset management lifecycle.

Education and Experience

  • 18-20 years of relevant experience in Network Technologies
  • 8+ years of Managing Engineering teams
  • Master’s degree or equivalent engineering degree preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience planning, directing, and coordinating the design, installation, maintenance, connectivity, and security of network systems
  • Knowledge of infrastructure structure cabling, including structured telecommunications / network, fiber, coaxial, and broadcast, and other audio / video cabling
  • Experience in managing diversified teams, in Banking and Financial institution
  • Broad understanding of Infrastructure structure technology Towers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and cross functional collaboration experience
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to priorities tasks
