Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions while driving engineering excellence across the team. Your key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining scalable web applications using PHP, React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
- Building responsive, accessible, and reusable front-end components using modern UI frameworks and libraries such as React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or similar tools.
- Developing and maintaining backend services, API integrations, and business logic using PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or similar PHP-based platforms.
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
- Integrating front-end applications with REST APIs, GraphQL services, third-party systems, and enterprise platforms.
- Ensuring code quality, maintainability, security, performance, and adherence to modern engineering best practices.
- Conducting comprehensive code reviews and offering constructive technical feedback to peers.
- Debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues in production and non-production environments.
- Working with DevOps teams to support deployment, orchestration, monitoring, and release management of cloud-native applications.
- Staying current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and modern web engineering practices.
- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer building enterprise-level web applications.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and modern PHP development practices.
- Hands-on experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter, or similar frameworks.
- Strong front-end development experience with React.js and Next.js.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript ES6+, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design.
- Experience with Next.js concepts such as server-side rendering, static site generation, routing, API routes, and performance optimization.
- Experience with React ecosystem tools such as Redux, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Context API, React Query / TanStack Query, or SWR.
- Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
- Proficiency with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, including query optimization and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
- Experience with security best practices, including OAuth2, JWT, authentication/authorization patterns, secure coding standards, and protection against common web vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and modern DevOps best practices.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright, PHPUnit, or Selenium.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent collaborative and communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional environments.
- Hands-on experience with incident management processes, including creating, managing, and resolving incidents using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Healthcare domain knowledge, including familiarity with terminology, workflows, regulatory needs such as HIPAA and PHI, or experience building healthcare applications.
- Experience with similar modern front-end frameworks such as Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Angular, Svelte, SvelteKit, Remix, or Gatsby.
- Experience with styling and component libraries such as Tailwind CSS, Material UI, Chakra UI, Styled Components, Emotion, Shadcn/UI, or Radix UI.
- Experience with modern front-end build tooling and package managers such as Vite, Webpack, Babel, npm, Yarn, or pnpm.
- Exposure to API Gateways, GraphQL, gRPC, or event-driven integrations.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
- Experience working with message-driven architectures such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or AWS SNS.
- Understanding of distributed systems, performance optimization, caching strategies, scalability patterns, and web application security.
- Ability to contribute to architecture discussions and technical design decisions.
